Adobe Softwares For All Communications Majors

For those who are trying to pursue something in the communications field, there are many resources for you to use. You may wonder what app to use for creating a new advertisement for Facebook, or what to use to edit a short film. Some of the most successful and known apps are the Adobe apps. Some of the more popular ones that you probably have heard of before are Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Express, and After Effects. These applications can be used for any concentration or profession within the major, whether it is journalism, public relations, advertising, or media production. There is an application for every student for their different needs.

Final Cut Pro- Final Cut Pro is a video-editing software that was founded in early 1999. It is set up in a similar format to its "sister software", iMovie. Final Cut Pro has more features compared to iMovie, such as being able to color-correct a clip or adding 3D effects to text. It also has a wide variety of video effects, audio effects, and video transitions. It is a great way for students or anyone in the communications field to expand and perfect their skills when it comes to creating videos.

Adobe Express- Adobe Express is a program created in 2015. It is mainly used for those involved in social media marketing or public relations and advertising who are trying to create eye-catching photos to promote a brand or product. The most beneficial part for most users is that it is easy to use. There are plenty of different fonts, images, and logos for anything.

After Effects- Adobe After Effects is a powerful software application used for creating motion graphics and visual effects. It is commonly used with Final Cut Pro. After Effects and Final Cut Pro do not have the same features. After Effects is a video compositing application, which simply means combining two video sources into one. This software has been used by thousands of companies and brands since 1993.

Adobe products are a great opportunity for students, especially those with internships. Adobe allows students to get their Creative Cloud Apps for over 60% off. This applies to teachers as well. Teachers and students could save over $400. When students and teachers go to check out their website, they will ask for clarification documents from the institution.

  1. Hello Alanna, since I'm a Visual Arts major, I can easily tell you that and agree with you that a lot of Adobe software can be great for all students especially their creative cloud which makes sharing projects such an ease. Their software is pretty pricey, so it is always a good choice to take those offers up when possible. Around the beginning of school time, they always have deals with their software, so it's a good time to take advantage of it. I've personally never used some of the ones listed but, Adobe Express and Lightroom would easily go hand in hand since Lightroom is a software photo editing software that many photographers use. I love how easy it is to read your blog by sectioning off the different software and writing a little summary of each.

  2. Hello Alanna! As a communications major I loved reading a different side of Adobe Suite that I am not quite familiar with. I mostly use Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere so it was great to learn about other platforms even ones that apply to other concentrations under the communications branch, especially ones that apply to my own. I found the software “After Effects” you mentioned helpful since I am not as familiar with that platform but will definitely look into going forward to broaden my skill set and knowledge in my field.
